Cough No More
Cough No More is blended to be an “average” approach to helping with coughing and breathing issues. As this is a wide spectrum area to have to tackle, there is no perfect “one mix for all” formula. Some horses will have minor improvements on this mixture and some will have major improvements. It can be used for horses with heaves, breathing issues due to allergies, chronic coughs and short term coughs due to colds/flus.
Blessed Thistle: Considered a “hot and dry” herb, which means it helps dry out a wet cough. Also helps flush out toxins in the liver, which can lower allergic reactions in the body.
Cayenne: increases circulation, flushes toxins, and is strongly anti bacterial and antifungal. Benefits horses with Heaves (due to increased circulation) while helping horses with lung infections.
Fenugreek: clears mucus and lessens your urge to cough, especially useful for calming a “dry” cough.
Ginger: both a stimulant and anti inflammatory. Ginger has a reputation as a carrier herb enhancing the absorption of other herbs. Improve circulation which helps to alleviate breathing difficulties.
Licorice: thought to harmonize the action of all other herbs. Demulcent (relieving inflammation or irritation). Expectorant (promotes the secretion of sputum by the air passages), anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-fungal, and immune stimulant.
Mullein: asthma, coughs and other lung-related ailments. naturally improve a wide array of upper respiratory problems including bronchitis, dry coughs
Nettle: help clear catarrhal (inflammation of the mucous membranes in one of the airways or cavities of the body, usually with reference to the throat and paranasal sinuses.) congestion. Helps reduce allergic reactions and boosts immune system.
Red Clover: expectorant, warming and antimicrobial. Red clover tops are also anti-spasmodic, which means that they lessen the repetitive coughing of medical conditions that cause cough, such as whooping cough, bronchitis and cold.
Sage: naturally antispasmodic, soothing coughs. Warming herbs which increases circulation. Decongestant.
